Marissa Roth

Clinical Psychology PhD Student, Vanderbilt University

Marissa grew up in Denver, CO and Orlando, FL and graduated from Stanford University in December 2017 with a B.A. in Psychology and a minor in Biology. She joined the Gotlib Lab in fall of 2013 as an undergraduate research assistant and became the coordinator for the B.A.B.I.E.S. project, which considers how early experience and the caregiving environment shape neurological development and later developmental outcomes. Marissa is currently a rising 5th-year PhD student in clinical psychology at Vanderbilt University. Her current research is focused on identifying resilience factors in children and young adults with chronic medical conditions and understanding neurocognitive development and executive functioning in these populations. Clinically, she is interested in pediatric neuropsychology (an assessment-focused clinical area that serves children and adolescents with medical conditions that affect brain function), and plans to pursue internship and fellowship training in this area after she finishes her graduate work.
