Postdoctoral Scholar

Sarah Rocha

Sarah Rocha is a postdoctoral scholar with the SNAP Lab. Prior to Stanford, she completed her PhD in Psychology at the University of California, Los Angeles and received her Bachelor’s in Biological Basis of Behavior at the University of Pennsylvania. Sarah’s research evaluates how youths’ environment shapes mental and physical wellbeing from childhood to young adulthood. Her work particularly focuses on the ways in which socioeconomic disadvantage and adverse environmental exposures influence physiological stress responses (e.g., inflammation, cortisol secretion), biobehavioral changes (e.g., sleep disruptions) and psychosocial stress (e.g., perceived hardship, low status). Sarah’s research is supported by Stanford Center on Longevity’s New Map of Life Fellowship.
